Before it was a business, High Rez was a way to give back. A response to the noise, the speed, the erasure.
It began as a quiet intention: To make something with care.To honor the process. To create works that hold more than function — works that hold memory, relationship, and presence.

Founded by Lakota artist and designer Stephan Oak from Lower Brule South Dakota by way of Detroit Michigan, High Rez is a Lakota-led Native American Owned studio rooted in cultural integrity, craftsmanship, and presence. We work with many mediums holding prayer and focus on process with traditional values and vision. Stephan brings together a deep respect for traditional lifeways and a commitment to building what our communities need now.

High Rez creates furniture, clothing, pottery, and strives to bring healing-focused community programs that reflect Indigenous labor, land, and history. From redesigning tribal courtroom tables to clothing that speaks to Native histories and futures, every piece is made with intention — to last, to serve, and to carry meaning. We work across mediums with mindful reverence, patience, and vision. Every detail is part of something larger than itself.
